The Medical Institute of Kentucky IT HelpDesk Technician is a course that runs for 24 weeks. Students will engage in a stimulating range of learning activities that include gaining troubleshooting issues, remotely diagnosing correct software, and operating systems, identifying and protecting against security threats, cloud computing, networking connections, mobile devices, and support networks on any platform preparing you for the challenges of the highly dynamic networking industry. The course features are infrastructure and documentation, wireless networking, network architecture, risk management, security in network design, and more. Career Development is also obtained throughout the program.
A IT HelpDesk Technician is a professional who provides technical support and assistance to customers, whether on the phone or in person. Their primary intention is to ensure a client’s satisfaction and ability to properly operate any machinery or technology they may be having trouble with.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment of IT HelpDesk Technicians is projected to grow 33 percent from 2020 to 2030, about as fast as the average for all occupations, adding about 16,300 average new jobs over the next decade.
The IT HelpDesk Technician student will complete instructional and simulation laboratory procedures for a period of up to 24 weeks in length. Successful completion of all courses is required to receive a program certificate of completion.
